This past weekend we decided to cook up some noshes and invite a few people over to the apartment – multicultural style!  Victor made causa rellena, yucca frites with salsa huancaina, and ensalada rusa, while I repped the land of E Pluribus Unum with turkey and stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, veggies, candied yams, and apple pie.

Oh, and we had a lot of booze too.

I didn’t get a picture of it although it was super pretty looking, but we made this delicious summery mixed cocktail pitcher beverage made from raspberry lemonade, beer, vodka, frozen raspberries and slices of lemon, lime, and grapefruit.  It was so delicious without being overly sweet, which is always the danger with fruity beverages like that.

The apple pie I baked was topped with streusel and came out really well despite being my first stab at that particular recipe…but unfortunately it met an untimely demise later that night when Victor dropped it on the kitchen floor after everyone had gone.  Oh well, we need to watch our figures anyhow!
